8th Grade Religion & Reading & 7th/8th Grade History Teacher

Mrs. Amanda Martin

What I like most about teaching at St. Peter would be the environment in which I teach. It is like a second home to me because I attended school here and now I am a teacher as well as a parishioner. The people I work with are amazing. They are very supportive and always there when you need them. The fact that I am able to share my faith with my students is very important to me. Being an 8th grade teacher, there is a lot of emphasis on faith because they receive the sacrament of Confirmation in the Spring. It is a blessing to see the children grow in every way and to know I am a part of it.

My philosophy is to provide a style of teaching that suits all types of learners. I strive to make sure that all of my students succeed to the best of their ability. I adapt to what suits them the best whether it be small group interaction/discussion, a hands on approach, one-on-one interaction or a large group discussion. One of the unique learning opportunities provided to students in my classroom are the literature circles that we do second semester. I feel these really prepare them for the next chapter of their education.
