Mrs. Lori Bertram
I have previously taught Kindergarten, first, second, and third grades. I believe in a learning environment that promotes an atmosphere of respect, trust, and safety. It is important to me children feel safe and comfortable, where expectations and rules are consistent. I also believe that all children can learn, every child is gifted and deserves an opportunity to show maximum growth. I also believe a classroom is a community and requires teamwork. I emphasize each child appreciate the unique gifts of their classmates, so together we can celebrate them!
Children learn through many different learning styles, and it is very important to me that I teach using many different methods to reach all children. We will have a schedule where reading and writing will encompass every subject. We will use many different materials and we won’t waste a minute of learning time! We will all grow together and help each other have success each day in big and small ways.
I have found elementary students to be some of the most enthusiastic, energetic, inquisitive people in the world. Their love of learning is such a powerful tool. I am excited to channel that energy into a busy and productive day. I am thrilled to be able to work together to help mold our children into Catholic Christians that love and serve God.

Get to know me...
I was raised in a Catholic home in Springfield, Illinois. After graduating from high school I went to Southeast Missouri State University and earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Education. I then moved to Red Bud, IL and worked for Red Bud Elementary for 4 years teaching Kindergarten, second and third grades. While still in Red Bud, I was able to step back from teaching and be a stayhome mom for 9 years. As my youngest went to preschool, I joined my four children at their Catholic school and taught 3rd grade there, until my husband’s career brought us to Quincy.
My husband Joe and I have been married 27 years. We have four beautiful children; Jake, Drew, Ty, and Grace. Besides teaching school and loving it, my other areas of interest are: Bible study, cooking, reading, boating, swimming, and spending time with my adult children.
