5th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Maggie Erd

I have been teaching at St. Peter School since 2011. It’s become, my home away from home.

What I like most about teaching at St. Peter School is coming full circle. It is an honor to be a part of the Catholic education offered to the children at St. Peter School, since St. Peter’s is my grade school alma mater. I know Catholic education works—it worked for me!

I am a believer of the pragmatic philosophy for education. I feel students learn and retain information the best when multiple senses are used while learning. I format my lessons to allow students to see it, hear it, say it, and then do it.

My fifth graders can expect to do science experiments in the classroom, use their speaker voice to share knowledge about a historical person, read and listen to lots of books on different genres, and have various writing opportunities to express their thoughts throughout the school year.
